Individual Psychotherapy
A Supportive Space to Understand What’s Keeping You Stuck
You may be managing anxiety, self-doubt, difficult relationship patterns, the effects of past experiences, or a sense of feeling disconnected from yourself. Even when you appear to be coping on the outside, carrying these concerns alone can feel exhausting.
Individual psychotherapy offers space to slow down and understand the emotions, experiences and patterns shaping your life. I work collaboratively with adults to strengthen self-awareness, emotional balance and self-trust while developing new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
Therapy is not about fixing you or telling you who to become. It is an opportunity to feel understood, reconnect with what matters to you and create change that feels meaningful and sustainable.
What Individual Therapy Can Help With
People begin therapy for many reasons. You may be responding to a recent challenge, carrying something that has affected you for years, or simply sensing that the way you have been coping is no longer working.
I commonly support adults with:
Stress, burnout and perfectionism
Grief and life transitions
Identity, belonging and meaning
What to Expect in Therapy
Therapy begins with understanding what is bringing you in, what feels most important and what you hope might change. We will regularly check in about your goals and adjust our work as your needs evolve.
Trauma-Informed and Paced
You will not be expected to share more than feels manageable. We will work at a pace that supports safety, choice and emotional regulation while gently exploring experiences that may be keeping you stuck.
Collaborative and Relational
Our work is a conversation. Your experiences, questions and feedback are welcome, and we will pay attention to both what you are facing and the patterns that emerge within relationships.
Inclusive and Contextual
Your experiences do not exist in isolation. Therapy can include attention to identity, culture, relationships and broader social systems. I aim to offer affirming care for LGBTQ2S+, BIPOC, immigrant and neurodivergent clients.
Integrative and Practical
I draw from emotion-focused and attachment-focused therapy, ACT, parts work, CBT, mindfulness and somatic approaches. Some sessions may involve deeper reflection, while others may focus on practical tools you can use in daily life.
Getting Started with Individual Psychotherapy
The first step is a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what is bringing you to therapy, answer your questions and consider whether working together feels like a good fit.
Individual sessions are held virtually and are available to adults across Ontario. Sessions are 50 minutes and the fee is $185. Receipts are provided for insurance reimbursement where plans cover services from a Registered Psychotherapist or Canadian Certified Counsellor.
The frequency and length of therapy depend on your needs and goals. Some clients seek focused, shorter-term support, while others value the depth and continuity of longer-term therapy. We can discuss an approach that feels appropriate for you.
